Gesher School

The brief:

Gesher is a remarkable special needs school, which, since its founding in 2017, has achieved three consecutive Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings. It had plans to transform the wider SEND sector by increasing its outreach activities and sharing best practice, but before it could do so, it needed to raise an additional £4.4m over the next three years to meet some its most immediate, pressing needs. These included the enhancement of the school building, expansion of its provision to incorporate children aged 16-18, and investment in its fundraising department to facilitate future growth.

Our approach:

Paul interviewed a range of key stakeholders across the school’s professional and voluntary team and created a ‘Gateway’ campaign incorporating all the above elements, through which it could proceed onto the next phase of the school’s development.

Following on from preparatory work, Paul created several tools to enable the school to actively fundraise for the campaign. This included an emotive and comprehensive case for support, a slide deck, an infographic through which they could explain their phases of development to donors and prospects, and a detailed Gantt chart to help them execute their plans.

What they said:

“It was a real pleasure to work with Paul on a recent consultancy project he carried out for Gesher School. He effectively engaged all our key stakeholders and brought fresh momentum to our fundraising efforts, by developing plans for an inspiring new campaign. His expert knowledge and wider sector experience proved critical too, guiding us on our fundraising team structure and helping to provide a more sustainable platform for the future. I would definitely recommend him to other charities that might be in need of his support.” Ali Durban MBE, Co-Founder
